bridging communities

We are surrounded by kind, open heart/mind ‘Ticos’.  Many of these families came together to build our fantastic Center.  Their farms surround black beans, coffee, a few cattle, many traditional crops, and us with. We welcome them to our events and dinner table often.  Spanish is spoken in the area with very little English used.

The town is within walking distance approximately 20 minutes depending on your personal pace.  The walk back is quite steep, and taxis are available to drive you back with a smile.  Our town is small, rural and hosts a large hardware, a super market, several small boutiques and a couple of mom-n-pop style eateries.  The small-town atmosphere means they recognize most people.  It is routine to say hello to those you pass on the road.
